Katie suggests the intended reader of this sign is someone who wants to be misinformed about their fake pregnancy. With fake pregnancies, I guess, you never do know what to expect.

Never mind the quotation marks, WT_ are those words doing on a sign on a door?
Way to go Borders, haha. I worked there so long I recognize the paper AND the font they used to use on their signs...
I actually had a real "scare quote" moment, like, this is the sign in the "waiting room" where you go to see a "doctor" (alien/mad scientist) who will implant you with a parasitic alien.... it's late....
WV: nocych, as in "Nocych it's late!"
I have no problem with these scare quotes at all. "Your pregnancy" is clearly directed to the couple and/or husband rather than the wife, and "what to expect" would be along the lines of the necessity of restraining said wife from exacting revenge on her husband during the birth.
That, or the subsequent trial.
