"bubble" tea

So the bubbles in bubble tea aren't made out of air, I'm not sure where that sits on the official definition of "bubble." Thanks, Ed.

  1. Quite appropriate actually: The "bubbles" in "bubble" tea are tapioca pearls. It's nummy.

  2. On the other hand, I don't want to know what that other thing is if it's not really "chocolate."

  3. Maybe they're plastic bubbles.

  4. I'm with scyllacat on both points. Especially because that is one hellacious-looking "chocolate"... item.

  5. scyllacat beat us to the punch - the quotations on "bubble" are appropriate since they are made of tapioca pearls and not air. Also, in my personal opinion they are disgusting. I'd prefer the air bubbles.

  7. Excuse my ignorance but, how do you make tea with tapioca?
