All I know is that my "kid's" take up a lot of space. The kid's clothes, the kid's toys, the kid's bike, and so on.
Kid is are great? Why is it that unnecessary quotation marks make me laugh, and apostrophe abuse makes me feel ill and grumpy?
@Blake: Probably because there's a way to interpret the quotation marks as necessary, but the apostrophe is bad grammar no matter how you cut it.
