I encounter a surprising number of fake soups writing this blog. Maybe in this case it's in quotation marks because if you put the word behind each of the types you'd end up with pumpkin soup soup. Thanks, James!

So if you make soup out of pumpkin soup, it's not really soup, but "soup". Gotcha!
Well, some of them could be "stew" or "chowder".
FYI, just because it's in quotes doesn't mean NOT SOUP, or NOT REAL SOUP. It could also mean that the word soup means something else other than soup. Like maybe homemade "soup" is really booze.
