I guess here "unique" is a euphemism for "totally weird." Thanks, Brian.

  1. It's nice that this sign also breaks another grammar rule that there are no levels of uniqueness. Something is unique or not. You cannot be the most unique.

  2. @blogyalater: That actually would explain the quotation marks. "We know this isn't the right word, but it's the closest we could think of."

    But I'm not convinced it is wrong. You can be more different from others than the others are different from others.

  3. @deckardcanine: Uniqueness is not a measurement of differentness. Unique means "one of a kind". Either something is one of a kind, or it isn't. The honorable blogyalater is correct.
