they did give Pabst a blue ribbon


Justin found this in the Life photo archive. Just after the repeal of prohibition, American beer seems to have left something to be desired.

I wonder if they don't have "beer" what they really have? Did they forget out to make it between the start and repeal of prohibition?

And for those midly curious: Pabst's blue ribbon was actually awarded at the World's Columbian Exposition (World's Fair) in Chicago in 1893. That's why they use it, at least they did win first place!

It must be Budweiser or Coors. That would certainly qualify as "beer".
