My friend Nirvana spotted this at the LA center studios, where she was working on Dollhouse (incidentally, a good show that you should all watch tonight at 9 on Fox).
I think perhaps of all the examples, this one might really be an exception. I'd love to believe the sign's creator truly understood the proper use of quotes for sarcasm or irony.
It's the old joke: "That's no lady, that's my wife."

ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing, that in this context, the quotation marks were appropriately used, because what lady wouldn't flush?
ReplyDeleteUm, that sign is totally accurate. Sometimes you need to call out the "ladies" who act like "wolverines" in the powder room.
ReplyDeleteI expect better of Eliza Dushku.
ReplyDeleteI was going to watch that show until I found out that the women who work on it don't flush.
