Scott sent me this. The best part, clearly, is the explanation of what the (alleged) alarm (allegedly) sounds like. whoop, whoop (with comma). However, if you hear that noise, it may be a very reserved person cheering.
And you have to dial 9 before dialing 9-1-1? After you hear the alarm and determine that it is, indeed, an alarm and not a white person celebrating. That's gonna foul people up.

That's to get an outside line. I have to do that at my work to call 911. But here we have actual alarms with actual sounds, so it might be a different meaning there...
Holy "crap"! I'm so excited to see this sign! We were at a hotel in Chicago and they had the same sign!! My boyfriend and I spent all night saying it and falling on the floor laughing!! Even without the amazing misuse of quotation marks, "sounds like a WHOOP WHOOP" is the best title for a disco song EVER!!
the whisltes go whoop, whoop!

ReplyDeleteI think this should go in the Classic section.
ReplyDeleteStrobes AND whoop-whoops? Sounds like a party. Do not dial (9) 911 in such an occasion.
ReplyDeleteTag Team back again check it, Wreck it - let's begin

"Benny, you did it again! The quotation marks go around the quotation itself, not the part before it!"
ReplyDelete"You mean that wasn't the quotation?"
"One of these days, Benny..."

So, the alarm sounds like Curly... great. That'll at least get all the females out of the burning building, leaving the males to attempt eye-pokes.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the best entry I've seen on this blog (thus far)-- or at least it's up there. ROTFLOL
