what for?

Conor spotted this while getting a christmas tree. For some reason, the quotation marks make me feel like I need to whisper the statement creepily: "you're going to need it......"

(I'm going to whisper, too -- "You forgot to capitalise Christmas." We can't criticise others English if ours is inaccurate, can we?)

I wish I didn't feel compelled to correct your punctuation usage on the word others. I believe there should be an apostrophe after the letter S.

However, now I feel self-conscious as I'm not sure about whether or not I should have used quotation marks around the word others and the letter S.

And again, I'm stumped whether or not I should have used the above punctuation in the above sentence!

I think the first commenter is using "others" as a plural (We can't criticize others - meaning, we can't criticize other people) rather than as a possessive (We can't criticize others' English)...but I digress. I am just impressed that this sign about the trolley used "your" and "you're" correctly!

oh, wait, maybe she did mean it as a possessive. Yeah, that should have had the apostrophe.

See, "Me", now aren't you embarrassed?

At least they spelled the contraction for "you are" correctly!!

That is brilliant. I love it. It's like, "You're going to need it ... for dead bodies!"

Do you think, being in quotations, that it's intended to be a quote from the Han Solo line in Return of the Jedi? "Good luck...you're gonna need it?"

I think it's likely. ha
