I did an interview with Diane Mapes for
this article, which isn't just about this blog but the larger trend of grammar pedantry. I actually think it's one of the more interesting takes on the trend, although I would attribute the proliferation of blogs and books etc more to new media lending itself to specificity than any kind of cultural anxiety.

Yeah, I'm not sure "It's the economy" makes sense in this case.
From the article: "But while blunders and bloopers have ever exasperated the spelling snobs and grammar grunions of the world, our recent woes — housing foreclosures, massive layoffs, rising debt and war — may be ratcheting up the pressure some feel to seize control of something (anything!), even if it’s just a properly placed comma." Hmmm, quite a leap there.
Bethany, I'm thrilled for all the press you and your blog get. It is so well-deserved and wonderful!
I found your blog through the article that a fellow spelling/grammer snob shared with me. :)
Congratulations on getting press. ;)
And if I had spell check in the blogger comment box then I would have caught "grammer"! Oh my! Sorry! LOL
Why do she be so mad at me for?

Nice recognition!
That article really over-analyzed the laughs I get out of looking at a pizza parlor menu and seeing "Sal Ads," though.
& don't get me wrong, I love me some Lil Wayne, but I'm glad society is doing the opposite of copying the way rappers talk. Onward. Progress.
Ciao! I'm the crazy woman who won't eat at Krispy Kreme -- and a loyal follower. Pleased to meet you! :)
