It wasn't service and it wasn't twice.
"Been suspended?"
Served, stopped serving, then served a second time.
First service was as a cop and the second was behind bars?
obviously one of them was sitting in the cruiser drinking coffee while the bank got robbed
Ahem. I could be wrong, but I think this time the quotes are appropriate. I think "serving twice" means 1) serving as a police officer, and 2) being killed in the line of duty. You might check that out for sure with the police dept. in question.
I'm inclined to go with Ann on this one. The quotes are probably appropriate in this case.
Well, hell, that takes the fun right out of it!
