This is from Betsy's church, and does contain one set of grammatically appropriate quotation marks (although why in heaven's name are they bringing Paula Deen into it at all?). Betsy suggests, "Apparently, some people will be gathering and will be divided into two teams, the "Hosts" and the "Guests." We don't know who they are, but there are very specific requirements for each."
(I know the blurring is funky, I don't have photoshop so I had to pretend they were blemishes in iphoto...)

I'd "love" to "eat" with them!
So will the "hosts" and "guests" get in a West Side Story-esque dance fight sometime in the course of the evening?
I'd pay good money to see that.
I know this is a "blog" of "unnecessary" quotation marks, but did anyone notice that "say's" has an inappropriate apostrophe?
Yeah--the inappropriate apostrophe! Good catch!
I don't get why sign-making people think that they have to capitalize the first letter of every word in a regular sentence! What would be so bad about simply writng, Sign up now!
??????
(I guess it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine...)
I see no inappropriate uses of quotation marks here, although it does contain some atrocious sign design. The inappropriate apostrophe makes me a little sick though.
actually, Paula could sue them for using her pic, unless they actually have her permission. You really cannot just cut a celebrity's pic out of a magazine and use it to advertise anything, even if it is a church function, not in this litigious day and age.
