Katherine in Ann Arbor writes, "I found this description of a kids' summer recreation class in the local community education booklet of a neighboring town." Evidently there are some tracks and droppings that aren't like us - "those" ones.
Hurm... this actually wouldn't have been so bad if the entire proposed childlike sentence had been in quotes.
Even just "make those tracks", or "left those tracks" wouldn't have been so bad, as it would have implied that a (fictitious) child were saying it.
But simply having "those" in quotes twice? That makes zero sense. Unless its perhaps a (fictitious) handicapped child who can't from complete sentences.
