My friend Kris spotted this one in
Trader's World. She writes, "I have no idea what it means, but I'm pretty sure that among its many egregious errors are unnecessary quotation marks. Fairly sure. Maybe. Actually, I'm still stuck on toid & toity-toid..."
"Toid & toidy-toid" would be "Third & thirty-third" in Jersey-speak, but I'm not sure what the rest of it is.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame I don't have a clue what any of it means so I can't figure out how many negatives are in there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clearing part of that up, Janelle... I'm still confused, though!
ReplyDeleteI think it's the random comma before toid that's throwing me the most.
ReplyDeleteI love that something from Trader's World made it up here, though! That place is such a collection of tackiness, beginning with their giant anatomically correct horse statue out by the highway!
Actually, having gone to elementary school on that corner, I'd like to clarify that it should have read "Toidy Toid & Toid".
ReplyDeletehmmmmm... the pizza place I order from all the time is Pizza 33 and it's on 33rd & 3rd. Their boxes say "Thoity-thoid and thoid" on the side (slight different spelling, for whatever reason). I have no idea what "'no never'" could mean.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG I about peed myself laughing.
ReplyDeleteI'm from New Jersey, have no bloody idea what the hell this means, but it sounds vaguely fecal -- and not at all pleasant!
It's NOT Jersey-speak. It's the damn NEW YORK accent! Sheesh! Why does everyone blame that crap on NJ?
ReplyDeletePossibly just a, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOID ;
ReplyDelete"Coincident"...
Wow, they failed with the quotation marks, comma, dash AND semicolon!
