ambiguous sample


There's something very zen about a label that calls itself into question. It is a sample if you believe it to be one, but take away the label, and it's just a basket of baked goods. Thanks, Kat.

    --It's not really a sample. It's a scam to get you to eat their weird bread things, and then charge you for 'em after you've already got 'em in your mouth.

    --This is a quotation of a command. The first person who took a free sample reached for a second and a third crusty baked bread triangle thingy. The man behind the counter looked her squarely in the eye and cautioned "Sample..."
