  3. Candling is used to remove earwax build up. It's been largely denounced as inefective and unsafe. I really don't want to explain the process here (it's kinda gross and freaks me out a little), but you can look it up on Wiki.

    EWWWW!!!!! :S

  4. This is a hilarious blog!!! My friends and I went on a haunted hayride and afterwards, as we got off the ride, there was a sign that read: Have a good hayride? Come get your "Free" Pumpkin!

We spent a hilarious hour trying to figure out what a "Free" pumpkin was... lol!

  6. Holy snikees.... I read the wikipedia page, thinking this was something out of the eighteenth century... only to see that "candling" was debunked in... 2007?!? Two thousand and seven?

    Thats just last year.

In this "modern" age we live in, people still thought a candle flame would produce sufficient negative pressure to pull stuff out of your ear? They never bothered to burn the candle without sticking it in their ear to see if it still produced "residue"? (someone did, and it does)

    Just terrible.

    P.T. Barnum was right.

  7. Well, to be fair, I've done ear candling lying down more often than seated, so you could argue that the quotes are warranted--or at least allowed. :)

  8. What about the correct "seating position" when measuring a tin pie plate that you're about to stick in your ear? That's what the people really need to know!

  10. Uh ... quotation marks are actually needed on this one, because the picture doesn't show a seated position at all!

  11. Sure, you can sit any way you want. Either way, nothing will happen except for maybe some wax burns.
