what's the salon's real name?

I wonder if those clip-art weird people are "Helen". Or maybe it's the salon's nickname. Thanks, Anne in Madison.

  1. Obviously, "Helen"'s real name is Henry, hence the Unisex bit.

  2. I would think if they wanted it truly unisex, they would've named it "Pat".

  3. In Latvia, they name their stores and shops and salons like that. They might say "I'm going to the store 'Target'" or "Would you like to meet at the coffeeshop 'Starbucks'?" Odds are this person is a European.

    It's still funny, though.

  4. Yeah, this really isn't terribly uncommon in other parts of Europe, French-speaking countries in particular. I think it can work because the "Helen" part could be considered the actual name of the store, in the way that we can talk about the poem "Ozymandias" or the snack food brand "Cheetos".
