it's "every one's" responsibility

David says this was posted near the coffee maker. This one is so fabulous that I am wondering at its veracity. There are clearly some people who do not take ownership of the break room, and they are not necessarily responsible. I wonder what really happened to the carafe(')s also.

  1. Maybe... er... Nope. I just can't justify this.

  5. I like how it says "Thank you management" at the bottom. I didn't know the management needed to be thanked.

  6. no, there's a tiny exclamation point at the bottom, sarcasm397. i was wondering why they didn't say "thank you! managemen't" though, just to round it out.

  7. Thought process of note writer:

"How can they do this to MY breakroom? MY coffee carafes? ALL MINE!

    ...oh, fine, "our" breakroom."

  8. Our spontaneously combusting...I mean, "burnt" coffee carafes.

Love this one. For just SOOOO many reasons.

  9. Why management would want to take credit for writing a note this grammatically horrifying is beyond me...but it's good for a good mid-day giggle!

  10. I just found this blog during a random google search. Yay for grammar fascism! Seriously, I'm not just taking the piss. I am a proud grammar nazi.

  11. It doesn't matter where you work if there's a tea room some inconsiderate so and so leaves a mess for someone else to clean up. It ruins "our" rest facilities for "everyone". Clear up after yourself. We mean "you".

  12. This is soo good because "everyone" at work knows "someone" else at work who would have loved to write this...

  13. This is also a masterpiece of apostrophe abuse, as well as being P/A and abusive of quotation marks. The author hit the trifecta!

  14. Every one's... Line up ALLLL the ones, and let's go to the breakroom! See "any body" below...

  15. And note the misplaced apostrophe in "carafe's" -- unless the are possessing something...

  17. I love that the text just gets smaller & smaller - as I was reading it, I found myself moving closer & closer to the sign..

I wonder if the person who put it up is using it as a trap; by the time you get to the end, you're hunched up with your face right against the wall, leaving you vulnerable to someone sneaking up behind you and smacking you on the back of the head (payback for all the awful things you did to 'our' carafes).

  18. the carafes aren't really theirs, are they?
