Why would a mother call her son "your son?" That doesn't even make any sense -- a man can't be his own son!
Good LAWD but this is funny! I cannot really believe the authors didn't know exactly what they were up to....
My late grandmother would always underline and put quotes around various words in the long, sappy greeting cards that she sent her children and grandchildren, presumably for emphasis. We always gently made fun of her for it, but it was definitely one of her more lovable quirks. As silly and sappy as it is, this plaque totally reminded me of her, in a good way.

"your son" actually works, as its quoting the father.
