possibly lead based

Christian saw this on VanCouver Island.  I like the way the quotation marks surround the english and french versions both.  Also, I guess the warning is to prevent you from licking the building?

I would have liked it if the sign did actually read, "Don't lick the building". That would be cool.

I also like how the English part gets the boring straight quotes, while the fancy-shmancy French part gets the curly quotes.

If it really was in France, not Canada, UQMs (and, for that matter, the necessary variety) would «look like these.»

Was this on "Van" Couver Island, or Vancouver Island?

i've read the FAQ, and i get that we're not supposed to make fun of bethany's grammar, but i LOVE that the super-dutch bethany automatically made "vancouver" into "VanCouver." she would have put little dutch shoes on it's feet and a halo of tulips on its head if she could have. :)

haha Kristy, I love that so much that I'm leaving it.

I think putting the sign up posed a bigger risk for lead poisoning than even licking the building, since little chips must have fallen off when they were drilling and are likely now in the lungs of the construction worker guys.
