it's "wonderful"

This sign, submitted by David, looks remarkably similar to this one.  And so does the guy holding it for that matter.  I think we have a repeat offender on our hands.  The "details in the bible" bit on this one is really my favorite, though it does not have quotations.  Maybe the "while you are able" bit signifies a subconscious affinity for Calvinism?

  1. I bet they're the same guy. They're both in Seattle. Maybe I'll have to take a field trip downtown soon...

  2. I don't think it points to Calvinism. I think the dude is just saying while one is still alive, if it was pointing to Calvinism it would say for those who are "called."

  3. ok, obviously a bad joke. I was trying to imply that the ability of an individual to repent on their own was being called into question... maybe it's not worth explaining...

  7. Oh yeah, I work in downtown Seattle and have seen that one. I immediately knew who it was when I saw the post. I mean, I don't "know" him...I well, you know. Love your blog!

  8. maybe "while you are able" actually means that it does not matter when you do or do not repent due to the fact that the writer of the sign procrastinates all the time.

  9. Unlike the other sign featured in another entry (http://quotation-marks.blogspot.com/2008/04/not-actually-exclusive.html), both of these ("Wonderful" and "While You Are Able") are actually quotations from the Bible. There is nothing wrong with this sign.
