On the BBC website the norm seems to be to wonder about people dying, in that they usually write in the format: Soldiers "killed" in bomb attack; or 4 "dead" in car crash. I always wonder what it is they are questioning when they write like that !
Marjorie spotted this at an American University in Doha, Qatar. The Danger appears to be equally ambiguous in English and in Arabic.
