If the woman in the bar is a hooker, and the guy is her "trick", then the quotes make perfect sense. Sort of.
or if the "trick" is some sort of sleight of hand move that puts something in her drink. Let's go for (in creepiness) Gold here.

Trick #52: Ask her to hold her glass in an odd position and continue to hold it with two hands while a "secret camera" behind the bar takes her picture. While she is not looking, pick her up.
If I wanted to pick up Fran Drescher while she was drinking a cosmopolitan, I'd probably leave a sitcom script on the bar.
Tricks will cost you $1500 for a night, slugger!!
Then again, this guy could have used some tips.
