The regular patrons know they really serve it on Wednesday night. They just put up that sign so they can laugh at people who ask for pozole on a Sunday.
Pozole is the most delicious Mexican food in ever!
I love Mexican food. You know, burritos, enchiladas and tacos from the taco trucks but Pozole is a million times better.
It's a soup with pork and hominy. Once cooked I like to pile lettuce, avocados to the top and squirt some lime juice on it. Then I crush tortilla chips and stir it all up.
I go for lots of shredded cabbage, plus a few squirts of lime juice and a big pinch of Mexican oregano (might be the same as Greek oregano, not sure...).
I think this one works because a particular "this Sunday" will always change dates.
Um, maybe it would be better if they just said "every Sunday". (Are my quotations necessary here? Never commented here before. Ouch, now I know why. Too hard : )

"Foshizzle" is slang for "for sure," so "what the foshizzle" does not make sense.

I second Vicky's comment. A blog as pedantic as this (and I mean that in a good way), should get it right.
ReplyDeleteUrk. Lettuce? Pozole isn't pozole unless you use shredded cabbage.
