recycle-ish

John saw this one in Albany. I love all the redundancy in this one. Are those fake polite quotation marks around the "please" or is it the elusive bottom quotation marks?

    Please...
    Thank you!

  2. They are just action lines. Like in a cartoon. Depicting the velocity of the words, in this case "recycle only" is flying down into the recycle bin.

I am sure that's what they meant. :)

  3. I thought they might be shine marks, showing you how squeaky-clean the earth will be if you recycle.

  6. I see the quotation marks form a box around "Recycle Only" to draw attention to the whole phrase, like fireworks. I think that's what they were going for.

  7. I agree... I think it's decorative. Like arrows or something.
