Wow, not just an instance of the lowercase-l phenomenon, but both t's are lowercase as well. I never see this in real life, but I guess it must be relatively common as errors go.
What people are failing to understand is this one is actually a correct use of quotation. As someone who lives in Seattle, I can say with complete certainty that it is actually quite far from the best coffee in Seattle, in fact, perhaps among the worst. Whether correct or not, it is still hilarious, much like everything on this site. I am in “love” with it.
Little late on the comment, but ah well. As previously mentioned, there is a brand of coffee called Seattle's Best. The entertaining bit is that it's served almost exclusively in airports and convenience stores up here in the Northwest, so it could be the authors are just showing discerning taste with their addition of quotation marks...
I just wanted to add the "information" that there is indeed a brand called "Seattle's Best Coffee" in case anyone overlooked the previous posts. Thank's, from "Seattle"! - Paul :)
"Seattle Best" is, in fact, what the brand of coffee is called.
ReplyDeleteOops. Make that "Seattle's Best."
ReplyDeleteIt was named after the founder of Seattle, a Mr. Seattle Best.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I missed "Bean Friday."

ReplyDeleteAnd the brand name definitely belongs in quotes! It's not awful, but there are quite a few places better than "Seattle's Best Coffee".
ReplyDeleteI'm with Lynn.

ReplyDeleteThis one actually makes sense if the quote is of somebody saying it's the best coffee in Seattle.
