Maybe I'm just over-reacting every time I see quotes in print?

I still think that it's pretty funny

    This one might be okay since it's the name of the event that is in quotes. However, capitalizing each name in the event would probably capture the same attempted meaning as the quotes, while having the added bonuses of being less ambiguous and looking nicer!

  2. The quotation marks lead me to assume we're talking about clandestine men's room onanism. The fraternity of lavatory self-abusers at my workplace aren't organized enough to make mugs - all the better, since we wouldn't have been clever enough to make up this kind of euphemism.

    Sporting an "I jacked it while you were at that meeting" mug might lead to an unpleasant discussion with HR.
