good ol' "Dave"

So "Dave" might be a legitimate stage name, but who knows if there will be a cover or not? And what are those suspicious markings in the lower right? Thanks, Matt, who took this in Toronto.

  6. Jeff- I look forward to your comments almost more than I do to seeing the merciless ridiculing of the punctuationally challenged. Thanks for all the chuckles.

Do you think "DAVE" is a gorilla? Because if he is, they are probably waving the usual cover charge due to liability issues.

  7. they're gorilla quotation marks!! or GUERRILLA, even! well, one half anyway.

and i feel your pain bethany. in fact, when i read your caption, i actually read the word "right" as "left," and didn't catch it until after scrutinizing the bottle cap. wha?? what kind of dyslexia is that?!

  9. Thanks, bradys! You too. I can't remember which ones exactly, but a few of yours on the last dozen or so posts actually made me laugh out loud. Glad to know people who post with their name appreciate the humor.

  10. I'm still waiting for what comes after the dual commas,, This site is a real gas for those of us who enjoy punctuation as decoration. And bradys? I love your posts, but it's waiving. Big smile and a wave to you!

  12. Those aren't quotation marks after "cover". It's footnote #11.

There's obviously a lot more to "Dave" than what the club could fit on their sign.

Makes me want to see him more than ever, regardless of how much it "costs".

  14. Regarding the dual commas after cover...

My high school teacher got me into the habit of putting those after working out a problem or explaining something in detail. I'm not sure what they're called, but it means "it is proven."

    Still... what does it prove?

  16. 1. I think the last "R" is supposed to be in small cap.

    2. For the mark after a solved problem, do you mean three dots in a triangle pointing upward (QED)?
