But, but, but! That's the correct way to use quotation marks for a single letter... You'd don't just write "You roll a c and start the timer..."

What about the second quote that never ends?
I don't think so, wouldn't the C just be capitalized and italicized without quotes?
Mike G is referring to the THIRD quote overall, opening a second set which is never closed.
But seriously, I think this game would be a little too difficult. How many places can YOU think of where Christ walked and starts with C? I don't think that they would allow City of David.
Well, Jesus walks by my side, so I guess Chicago would count.

I agree about the C. Unnecessary, IMO.

I mean, how can you misinterpet the C if it if it didn't have the quotes? I can maybe see it with A, if you think the readers will be going, "If I roll A what?!"
But I don't see anyone going "If I roll a C what? Maybe it's the first letter of a word. Do any of the dice have words that start with C on them?"

I think the writer meant to write "A place where Jesus walked" (Canaan) or "Things that separate us from one another" (carelessness) which would have been correct because he would have been quoting from the game card.
But after the first quote, he just said "Screw it." And then, he had to go to confessional. By the time he got back, he had forgotten about the open quote.
Is there a Southern Baptist version too? A Jewish one?
Or an Atheist one! "You roll a G. Name things that don't exist!"
I'm with ModernGal and Jeff on this one. My first reaction in viewing this posting was excitement at the notion that there are unlimited possibilities for themed versions of Scattergories:
"OK, who wants to come over to my place for game night?! Come on, you know you want to...we can play Quakergories! Any takers?!..."
Atheist Scattergories. Or how about Agnostic Scattergories? Timmy, what's your answer for number one? I don't know. Number two? I don't know. Number three? Not sure.
People. Please open a grammar book. You can use either quotes or italics when referring to a letter as a letter.
oh for heaven's sake. I wouldn't have posted it if it was JUST the "c". The good part is those lonely opening quotation marks.
