So they maybe accept cards that may or may not be American Express?
It's also against most credit card companies' policies to require a minumum (or minimun), so they could get in some trouble with AmEx, though that doesn't stop every deli in NYC.
I don't know many people who use AmEx, how weird that they only accept AmEx. And that's probably the highest minimuN(\) I've ever seen. And I didn't know that was against the credit card company's TOS. Makes sense though. They want you to charge $2 so they can charge you $4 in fees.
i can sypathize with the business owner here, it does cost money to process credit cards. but it's part of a cost of doing business; it's not like they're losing money by accepting credit cards. also, it's quite illegal to require minimums for credit card purchases. little known american express factoid: if the customer that charged their purchases at your store on their amex defaults on their payments, amex won't pay YOU. interesting, eh?
but the end-all-be-all are those quotation marks. MAN i hate it when people do that!
Someone fixed a "MINIMUN" there. Funny.

I also am loving the period after "dear," too. Are they little old ladies, calling me "Dear"? Why, I never!
ReplyDeleteThat cake sure as hell isn't a lie.
ReplyDeleteYou can't pay cash, huh? What is this, a screwed up VISA commercial that got the company wrong?
