Wow, I didn't realize that my favorite convinence store, Sheetz, was such a bad offender.
Seriously, though, it is "always" a good place to eat. Errr, I mean always without quotes. You can gas up and order a sandwich for the road, and they make them quick and pretty good.
I suppose a case could be made for the second sign, if the company ran ads with a smiling chef using the phrase in question to invite customers into the store.
Of course, this West Coaster does not know if such ads exist, since M-T-O is an East Coast regional brand.
i enjoy how they've replaced the quotation marks in the first sign with a magenta circle in the second. i was unaware that the two were interchangeable.
i also get some sort of vague sense of whory desperation from the whole thing, but maybe that's just me. "my kitchen's ALWAYS open. wink wink."
It's interpreting that ridiculous font for us.
ReplyDelete"always" meaning "when we feel like it"
ReplyDeleteoh man, i didn't even notice the quotes around "always" in sign 1... the quotes in sign 2 are still unnecessary, but I'd say it's an improvement.

The entire second sign is unnecessary!
