"Excellent" could be used in quotes here if the sign is quoting a recent report or a perhaps a comment from a well-know education pundit. In my local area, for example, the term "Blue-Ribbon" refers to an excellent school and could arguably be used in quotes.

Hahahaha. Definitely avoiding this school district.
How did I not know of this blog's existence prior to today? This is wonderful.
HAHA I LOVE THIS SITE.
Oh, this one gets two thumbs up! (I wish I could make it more, but... no more thumbs...)
That's not very nice. "Fine, fine, we'll put excellent on the sign.... but it's going in quotes!"
LOL!! Awesome one. :D
Just so you know, public schools are officially ranked using terms like "Excellent" or "Emergency".
