Well, I'm heading back to Georgia early tomorrow morning, but I wanted to share one more of the many quotation marks spotted on my visit here. Jim and I actually ate at this place (what? it was raining and I really wanted Ethiopian food). Those quotation marks are probably an error, because that food was fantastic. Maybe the chef actually happened upon cooking later in life or something. Maybe they don't want us to think the store itself was born.
Another reminder:
Vote for me, once a day. I now really want the laser.

"Very funny the idea of your blog." :-)
I feel like this one is actually justified, but I can't put my finger on exactly why I think so.
I LOVE weird things, and so it makes sense that I would find this blog. This is SOOOO fun! I shared about it on my blog tonight. Thanks for the FUN!
maybe the kid was born in a pan or a pot or something?
I just stumbled on this and began reading mindlessly. After a while, I would hear myself giggle at most of the posts (the one about "live" entertainment was quite funny to me).
Cool.

Such a clever idea! I often marvel at the misuse of all public puctuation. I have even toyed with the idea of creating a career as a sign editor-ha,ha. If people only knew that those of us who punctuate properly laugh at those who don't, they might be more mindful. Thanks for the laughs!
hahaahaa, i love your site. i have to admit, i "overuse" quotation marks "too". well, "sometimes" anyway.
you "rock"
Love your blog... it's so good I feel like gouging my eyes out - all those """""""""'s all over the place!
My fiance and I are both grammar-nazis so this kinda thing really gets our goats. I will be on the lookout for any signs to submit photos ;)
Hey Ethiopian food's awesome. You try it sometimes when it's not raining.

um... "sometime" not "sometimes"
This blog is SO brilliant!!! Normally when I look at the Blogs of Note I am only mildly interested or impressed. This one just hits home for me! I cannot explain to you the number of times I've had conversations with friends about how insanely annoyed I am with misused quotation marks! Now I wish I'd taken pictures of all those irritating instances. One of the best was a huge sign my brother and I saw on the side of this building in Kansas City that said "Support Our Troops". We decided maybe we were supposed to imagine them yelling "support our troops" out the window as we passed by. It makes me crazy, none the less!
I'm definitely sharing your blog and will definitely be back to visit again soon!
The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks. I love this blog it always makes me laugh some of the signs that you have found. Thank you for the laughs.
Garrison is right! These quotation marks are properly used, in that they are indicating a personal slogan or motto.
OMG! Don't you just hate them there things!
If anything, they're worse than Ickies, those 's that seem to litter every notice these days
"Born to Cook" could actually be their slogan or motto--something they say a lot. After all, quotation marks go around quotes!
Ah! I see Michael5000 made the same observation. GMTA! ;)
Oh, I am not dissing you, I'm dissing the world. I dont know why they use
all of those damn quotation marks, my coworker and I thought your blog was
so friggin funny. She is a writer and I am a communications specialist. So
this blog hits close to home. We are always laughing at the sick and twisted
misuse of grammar. Too funny.
I'll ask again: Where in American grammar is it written that slogans go in quotation marks?! Not necessarily incorrect, but certainly unnecessary!
I don't know dude...I think it SHOULD be incorrect! (As I look over my glasses at you)
great idea for a blog..just wonderful..please check out my blog..i'm new to this whole blogging thing..my owner would very much appreciate it 2 :D _xX
Maybe they were necessary quotation marks?
Perhaps someone said to him: "you were born to cook!"
It is nice you had Ethiopian food in this place. Secondly I love creative people like you. I call them "observant".
