"A recipe we're proud of"
You played a carrot in the 3rd grade play. You got your GED the 2nd time around. Somehow you memorized all the dialogue in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and now this recipe. We couldn't be "prouder."
Found on a menu/placemat in Grand Haven, MI.

I disagree with this one as unnecessary. What if that is the restaurant's slogan?
I also disagree with this one. If only the word "proud" was in quotes it would be a different story.
Disagree, the phrase is being used as a direct quote. While not necessary, is not unnecessary.
haha, nice commentary.
But who are they quoting? Either it's plagiarism or a really bad slogan.
The chef speaks. Totally necessary in lieu of a speech balloon.
Agree with the others; the quotes are not unnecessary.
Due to the implications of the picture that is beside the quote, it is as if the guy is saying it. If it is a direct quote then it is necessary, even from fictional characters. Think of how you would site it in a term paper.
I believe it would need to say Our chef says, or something like that, in order to make the quotes necessary, so I say they are unnecessary in this case. I would like to point out that this looks like Fricano's Pizza. You better like their recipe, because they only have 5 ingredients. It's their way or the highway.
If it's a quote, then they need to say who they're quoting or it doesn't count!
