home-ade

I guess the quotation marks in this one, sent by Waldo, are to denote that "Homeade" isn't a real word. My guess it's a sauce/juice made from homes - like lemonade or limeade. Mmmm nothing like an icecold glass of homeade...

  2. Yet "biscuits," a more difficult word to spell than either "sandwiches" or "homemade," is spelled correctly.

  4. Better than "ho-made", at any rate.

  5. Is it just me, or do mom-and-pop restaurant menus seem to be especially prone to overquotation? Especially words like "delicious" and "famous", as if to say "WE aren't claiming this food is delicious, but we once heard someone say it was".

  6. Actually, homeade is a lovely, spiced alcoholic beverage that streetwalked have been known to enjoy in colder climes.
